Hi there,

Today is your last chance to donate during Public Media Giving Days, a time to celebrate what public and independent media gives to you by giving back. If you think Democracy Now!’s reporting is a critical line of defense against war, climate catastrophe and authoritarianism, please make your donation of $10 or more right now. In honor of Public Media Giving Days, a generous donor will TRIPLE your donation, which means it’ll go 3x as far to support our independent journalism. Democracy Now! is funded by you, and that’s why we’re counting on your donation to keep us going strong. Please give today. Every dollar makes a difference—in fact, gets tripled! Thank you so much.

Trump Wins Nevada Caucuses, Vows to “Load” Gitmo with “Bad Dudes”

HeadlineFeb 24, 2016

In his third consecutive victory, billionaire businessman Donald Trump easily won the Nevada Republican caucuses last night, capturing 46 percent of the vote. Florida Senator Marco Rubio placed second with 24 percent. Texas Senator Ted Cruz came in third with 21 percent. Speaking to Nevada voters ahead of the caucus, Trump opposed Obama’s plan to close the Guantánamo prison.

Donald Trump: “This morning I watched President Obama talking about Gitmo, right? Guantánamo Bay, which, by the way—which, by the way, we are keeping open, which we are keeping open. And we’re going to load it up with some bad dudes, believe me. We’re going to load it up.”
