Hi there,

Today is your last chance to donate during Public Media Giving Days, a time to celebrate what public and independent media gives to you by giving back. If you think Democracy Now!’s reporting is a critical line of defense against war, climate catastrophe and authoritarianism, please make your donation of $10 or more right now. In honor of Public Media Giving Days, a generous donor will TRIPLE your donation, which means it’ll go 3x as far to support our independent journalism. Democracy Now! is funded by you, and that’s why we’re counting on your donation to keep us going strong. Please give today. Every dollar makes a difference—in fact, gets tripled! Thank you so much.

Thousands of Bolivians Rally in La Paz in Defense of Socialist President Luis Arce

HeadlineNov 30, 2021

In Bolivia, thousands of labor and Indigenous leaders marched in La Paz Monday in support of socialist President Luis Arce, warning the world they would not allow another coup. The “March for the Homeland” was led by former Bolivian President Evo Morales, who was overthrown in November 2019 following a U.S.-backed, right-wing military coup. This is President Luis Arce.

President Luis Arce: “Brothers, this is not the end. This is the beginning, because the people have come to defend their vote. They came to defend democracy, but they also came to tell those right-wing coup plotters there will never be coups in our country!”
