Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton arrived in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday and called on the Congolese government to do more to stamp out rape. One of the people Clinton met with is Christine Schuler Deschryver, a Congolese human rights activist. She lives in Bukavu in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where the violence against women is the worst. Deschryver will join us on Democracy Now! tomorrow to talk about her meeting with Clinton. In the meantime, watch our interview with Deschryver from 2007.
