CYNTHIA MCKINNEY SCORED AN IMPORTANT AND HISTORIC VICTORY IN TUESDAY’S ELECTION. NUMEROUS PUNDITS HAD PREDICTED THAT THE OUTSPOKEN AND PROGRESSIVE BLACK CONGRESSWOMAN FROM GEORGIA WOULD NOT PREVAIL IN A MAJORITY WHITE DISTRICT AFTER THE SUPREME COURT RULED THAT HER PREVIOUSLY BLACK DISTRICT HAD BEEN RACIALLY GERRYMANDERED. HER VICTORY WAS TRULY INSPIRING: HER DISTRICT HAD BEEN TWO-THIRDS BLACK AND IS NOW TWO-THIRDS WHITE.
