The executive director of Catholic Social Services has resigned amid allegations the agency did little to help refugees in its charge who were placed in crime-ridden, rodent-infested buildings. Pam Buckmaster had been executive director since 1993. She resigned this week after news reports of the refugees living in squalor. The archdiocese moved 56 refugees out of one apartment complex Sunday after learning of the deplorable conditions in Atlanta.
