Paper: 1,700 U.S. Soldiers Have Deserted in Iraq

The French magazine Le Canard Enchaine is reporting that 1700 U.S. soldiers have deserted their posts in Iraq or have refused to return to duty after going on leave. The reported was based on interviews with officials within the French intelligence agency.
