Socialist PM Wins Sri Lankan Elections

In Sri Lanka, Socialist Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse has won the country’s Presidential elections with just over 50 percent of the vote. Rajapkse beat his closest opponent by under 200,000 votes. The election was met with a widespread boycott in the country’s northern Tamil region, where voting was virtually non-existent.
