Hi there,

Can you donate $10 per month to support Democracy Now!’s independent journalism all year long? Since our very first broadcast in 1996, we’ve refused to take government or corporate funding, because nothing is more important to us than our editorial independence—especially in this unprecedented election year. When Democracy Now! covers war and peace or the climate crisis, we’re not brought to you by the weapons manufacturers or the oil, gas, coal or nuclear companies. Our journalism is powered by YOU. But that means we can’t do our work without your support. Right now, a generous donor will DOUBLE your gift, which means your $10 donation this month will be worth $20 to Democracy Now! Please do your part right now. We’re all in this together. Thank you so much.

Bush Warns Iran “All Options Are On The Table”

HeadlineAug 15, 2005

This news on Iran: President Bush is warning that “all options are on the table” if Iran refuses to comply with international demands to halt their nuclear program. President Bush comment came during an interview on Israeli television. “As I say, all options are on the table. The use of force is the last option for any president, and you know we used force in the past to secure our country,” Bush said. “It is difficult for the commander in chief to put kids in harm’s way. Nevertheless I have been willing to do so as a last resort in order to secure the country and to provide the opportunity for people to live in free societies.” President Bush’s warning was criticized by German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder. He said, “Let’s take the military option off the table. We have seen it doesn’t work.”
