The U.S. Navy has begun proceedings to discharge a 10-year veteran from the service after she attended a rally promoting same-sex marriage in New York last month. At the rally Rhonda Davis gave an interview to a local radio station and said she hoped to someday marry her partner. Davis is now being discharged under the military’s Don’t Ask, Don’t tell law which prohibits openly lesbian, gay and bisexual personnel from serving in the armed forces.
