The government is allowing hunters to kill up to 275,000 young harp seals on the ice floes off Eastern Canada despite protests from animal rights activists and conservationists. Activists with the anti-sealing group Sea Shepherd are now patrolling the icy waters of Canada in an attempt to monitor and disrupt the seal hunt. On Sunday, Sea Shepherd activists said one of its ships was rammed twice by a Canadian coast guard icebreaker.
