The animated feature was written and directed by Ari Folman, who served in the Israeli military during Israel’s 1982 war with Lebanon. Waltz with Bashir explores the role his unit played in the massacre of Palestinians at the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps. The big winner of the Golden Globes was the film Slumdog Millionaire, which won four awards.
