Over the past week, Karzai has criticized Western interference in Afghanistan and said the Taliban risks becoming a legitimate resistance movement. On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said the US might “evaluate” Karzai’s remarks to determine whether a White House visit would be worthwhile.
