Thousands Protest as Michigan Enacts Emergency Management Laws

HeadlineMar 17, 2011

Thousands of people rallied at the Michigan State Capitol in Lansing Wednesday as Republican Gov. Rick Snyder signed a package of anti-worker bills into law. The measures grant appointed emergency financial managers sweeping new powers to break union contracts, dismiss elected officials, and even disincorporate entire municipalities.
