Occupy Activists Protest GE Shareholders Meeting

HeadlineApr 26, 2012

Dozens of protesters affiliated with the Occupy movement rallied in Detroit on Wednesday at the annual shareholders meeting of the corporate giant General Electric. A group of 100 demonstrators made it inside the meeting to disrupt the opening proceedings. The protesters chanted “Pay Your Fair Share,” a reference to GE’s notoriously low tax rate. It was the second consecutive day to see an Occupy protest at a shareholders meeting, following one on Tuesday against the banking giant Wells Fargo in San Francisco.
