Tune in Wednesday when we’ll speak with reporter Julia Angwin as part of a roundtable on whistleblowers, and discuss challenges journalists face in cultivating such sources due to online surveillance by the government and corporations. Angwin examines these issues in her new book, “Dragnet Nation: A Quest for Privacy, Security, and Freedom in a World of Relentless Surveillance.” You can read Chapter 1 below.

The roundtable on whistleblowers will also include former senior CIA analyst, Ray McGovern, who is now on the Steering Group of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity; and Mike German, national security policy counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union. From 1988 to 2004, German served as an FBI agent specializing in domestic counterterrorism.
