NYC: Voters Elect Jumaane Williams as New Public Advocate

In New York City, Jumaane Williams won a special election Tuesday to become the city’s new public advocate, defeating 16 other candidates. Williams has served on the City Council since 2009 and is known for work on housing rights and reforming police practices.
