Professor of history and gender studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He’s the author of the award-winning biography of Bayard Rustin, Lost Prophet: The Life and Times of Bayard Rustin. He also recently published a new edition of his book Intimate Matters: A History of Sexuality in America.
