Leading Kenyan activist and lawyer. Executive director of Urgent Action Fund-Africa. Serves on several boards, including the Kenyan Human Rights Commission and the Women’s Initiative for Gender Justice. In 2003, she was awarded the Kenyan national honor, the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear, for her work in human rights.
