Spent a decade reporting in Ciudad Juárez and along the Mexican-US border for La Reforma. In September 2008, he and his family were forced to flee Juárez. He has been granted refugee status in Canada and has received an International Press Freedom Award from the Canadian Journalists for Free Expression.
